wow... phenomenal! woody's best movie since hannah and her sisters (25 years ago). sweet, hilarious, beautiful to look at and an absolutely wonderful, poignant and heartfelt script that is magical and impeccably written. and who knew that owen wilson of all people would make a near perfect young woody substitute. marion cotillard is ravishing; michael sheen is uproarious. the way the script plays with history and famous characters from the past is genius and the deep message of the film is genuine and a pretty different view from the typical allen outlook. there is a reason why this is read more

an unexpected "sleeper"-hit with a really star-studded cast, playing even more star-studded characters. i won't spoil it for you, but this movie is a mysterious, romantic, delightful journey through the pretty cobblestones of gay paree. interestingly, though i'd known very little of fitzgerald's writing, my last (good) movie was one of his shorts: benjamin button. now i'm interested in learning more about hemingway, especially since he's proved to be able to see through the protagonist's denial. brilliant performances by bates, brody and bruni. cotillard manages to exude an apt "je ne sais... read more

This is a film I hate to discuss with people unfamiliar with it. I was completely uninformed, so the main reason I loved it so much is the surprise when I first entered Paris at midnight. A film that (re-) sparked my interest in art (classic literature to be more precise) and will wander around in my mind with its wonderfully choreographed scenes and sharp dialogue. There was only one thing that bugged me: Owen Wilson trying to be more Woody Allen then Woody Allen. read more

52 years in 52 weeks 2018 2011 watched this on itunes. its like ready player one except with 1920s references...and its very easy on the eyes...and it doesnt suck. ill be honest, i havent watched very many woody allen films, and none of his “classics”, but this was easily the best of the allen movies ive watched so far. like i said earlier, its really easy to watch this. cinematography is gorgeous, sets are cool, and paris is just awesome to shoot. pretty darn good movie overall. read more
