if you thought a christmas story needed more poo and barf and animal cruelty and smarmy neil patrick harris. policing it for anachronisms was fun, though. read more

8 Bit Christmas is a entertaining watch if you have spare time on your hands, but it appeals more to an audience who were kids in the 1980s. I felt the theme of appreciate your family more than video games was fine but this movie just didnt need to be made to be honest. DEFINITELY watch if grew up in the 1980s, CONSIDER watching if you are a gamer today and didnt grow up in the 1980s, DO NOT watch if you are NOT a gamer and didnt grow up in the 1980s. There are a few video game movies out there that take you a new world but this one doesnt. Overall, I watched 8 Bit Christmas and I didnt read more

My quick rating - 6;2/10. The last movie was the wrong one LOL; fixed it. This was a good family flick for the holidays about a dad (Neil Patrick Harris) who is feeling out of touch with his daughter and tells her the fantastic story of his 1980 quest to get his own Nintendo. Very much a retro take on A Christmas Story that doesn't have quite the impact nor with but still is entertaining enough. The kids that make up the majority of the movie are very well done and have their individual personalities that keep it amusing.
