how could you not be excited about tomorrowland? shrouded in secrecy and directed by brad bird, director of the incredibles, mission impossible: ghost protocol, the iron giant and ratatouille. the first teaser was awesome and in the year of 2015 a breath of fresh air and originality was surely needed. so then a week before it came out teh reviews flooded in and it didn't look good. but i went anyways and i can tell you that i was very disappointed. this is a film that i had high hopes for, despite reviews and thought i would still like it and even recommend it. nope, neither of those two can... read more

tomorrowland is an ambitious film full of big ideas and high aspirations. it wants to be a great movie, and it wants to inspire people to do great things. it would have been more admirable if it actually framed these great dreams and high ambitions into a more compelling film. damon lindelof, brad bird and jeff jensen's script tries to pack a lot in but falls short due to clunky narrative devices and broad characterizations that change on the flip of a switch. there are jarring shifts in tone that don't work as well. but the performances are all good and it's a visually stunning film with read more

Teenage activist girl is given a wondrous pin allowing her a limited access to the future - and a chance to save the world from a deadly threat. My quick rating - 6;0/10. Unfairly dogged in the theater but it does have its flaws. The story itself is contrived and really doesn't try to explain itself to well. Then again; it is fantasy ad summer blockbuster so why am I bothering being critical. The movie looks fabulous as expected (200 million in budget will do that) so at least the movie broke even (not even close with marketing). Britt Robinson(female lead) does a very good job in her acting role and is very believable as the apprehensive young kid. Despite looking like a reasonable movie in the trailers this one just didn't grab me. It is a bit of a kiddy movie from the Disney Studios so I shouldn't expect much but I just found myself not really paying attention to it. It's probably a bit unfair to judge but from what I saw I wasn't impressed by. The effects looked pretty basic for such a big budget movie. There has been quite a lot of favourable reviews so by all means don't take my word for it. Great for the family. read more
