once again this franchise decides to say "fuck off" to physics and create a world much like the matrix. i have some questions. why did they need to parachute in? it was no different to having just driving up behind them on the road as that's what they fucking did! how did chev chelios crash in on their ramsey saving? how the fuck did he know that they were going to ambush that truck, in that location? how did chev chelios find them at the party? he didn't have the god's eye software and there was no way he knew they were going to dubai. the god's eye software works by spidering across all read

fast five is the best in the franchise. it turned the b-movie car films into a bonafide action franchise with a-list production values and solid direction. i loved it. then part 6 came out and it wasn't anywhere near as good. furious 7 fixes that and while not as good as five it is still the second best in the series. great action, great cast, great stunts, great moments; makes for a two hour thrill ride. the rock rocks. statham is great as the baddie. russell is always welcome. diesel is tough to the bone. and then there is walker... the whole time walker is on the screen you feel kind of... read

were it not for brian's (and paul's) heartfelt send off, and the inclusion of kurt russell as mr.nobody, furious 7 would probably rank a bit lower for me. villain deckard shaw (jason statham) is a straight up murderer in this movie- and it feels jarring that almost immediately the franchise would about-face to induct him into the 'family'. i get it- forgiveness and acceptance is a huge theme in these movies, and that's part of why i love them. but jesus, they gave brian a harder time about being a cop- even after letting toretto go twice than they ever give deckard for murdering han. not to... read

Marred by the accidental death of Paul Walker before he could complete all of his scenes, the last ride of the original cast of the Universal motorhead saga finds in the late star's eerie presence its strongest saving grace. Although quite a few of Walker's inserts feel tacked on from leftover footage and produce an uneasy feeling, the way director Wan and veteran F&F scribe Chris Morgan tiptoe around the actor's premature demise - and concoct a gentle way to walk him out of the series - finally give central stage to the inherent illusion of invulnerability the franchise has rooted itself in.... read

Chronicling the craziest thing that happens in each of these movies as I watch them for the first time
The Fast and the Furious - Letty drives a car under a semi truck, Vin Diesel survives a triple rollover crash with a bump on his head to show for it
2 Fast 2 Furious - Brian drives a car onto a moving boat at 120mph, the writers unironically make Paul Walker say "Forget about it cuh"
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift - Han survives that
Fast & Furious - Vin Diesel drives under a rolling exploding gas tanker
Fast Five - Vin Diesel uses Car-Fu and a bank vault as a weapon to kill the... read

"That's the thing about street fights... the street always wins." might be the dumbest dialogue I have ever heard in a movie. Also, Dom has inhumane super strengths now. At this point he should be in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tej should join him there too. He was a car mechanic and street hustler in 2 Fast 2 Furious. They didn't even show him as a street racer. In Fast V he becomes a technician somehow. In Fast & Furious 6 he becomes a hacker! And in this movie he is a racer and martial artist too! What are the writers smoking? read
