all in all, great movie. taika has made probably my favorite movie in the mcu. not much to say that people havent said before. korg was a treat to behold. biggest flaw, though? the special effects and cgi in this movie were god damned atrocious most of the times. i dont want to exaggerate, but it gave me some hard phantom menace flashbacks at times. hulk and korg was really the only visual effects that worked for me, which i guess is good, cause theyre pretty important components of the movie. very entertaining and fun movie and all but i get the feeling in 10 or even 5 years, this movie will... read more

if youve been watching the marvel cinematic universe (mcu for short) films, its been no secret that the thor franchise has always been like that kid at lunch nobody wanted to sit with. sure, audiences had a good time with the gorgeous visuals and the cast, particularly the relationship between thor (chris hemsworth) and loki (tom hiddleston). however, everything around that wasnt exactly worthy of picking up mjolnir. the franchise just didnt seem to tap into the potential it had right in front of its metaphorical face the entire time, but there just didnt seem to be any substance to his read more

there are times where it feels like the marvel cinematic universe can do no wrong. but let's be honest; that's not really the case. i enjoy the first two thor movies for what they are, but they're both flawed films which don't utilize the characters to any level approaching their potential. simply put, the thor franchise has been the weakest of the solo series to date. that's part of what makes thor: ragnarok's success such a heady thing. with director taika waititi taking the franchise in a new, cosmic direction, the series not only hit a high for thor movies, it made for one of the most read more

I have a theory: Thor:Ragnarok was one of the best superhero-screenplays ever written. It introduced a creative new direction in mythological storytelling; a clear character-driven plot of loss and redemption; and a perfect balance between drama and a general lightheartedness. Thor: Ragnarok is a decent film but Thor isnt my favourite superhero so the Thor films mostly arent my cup of tea! Hela & The Grandmaster feel a little underused here as theyre good characters but I wanted to see more of them! Valkyrie is a nice addition here along with Korg. Hulk seems to talk more when speaking to Thor as I imagine Hulk as more of a beast or a monster coming out of Bruce Banner. I quite enjoyed this latest movie from the Thor/Marvel franchise. A good choice of director in Taika Waititi who is more known for his comedy movies or TV shows. He just added some much needed humour to the movie but a slight negative was that there was probably just a bit too much and it looked a bit forced. The actors don't have to do much in these type of movies and with that the special effects were great and I found the movie beautifully vibrant and colourful. Worth a look read more
