what nicely sliced f1 cars (unlike the carbon fiber shattering that typically occurs)... and the para-para interface first pioneered in minority report is used to make a new element?! with a captain-america-shield-supported manually-aligned-laser?! one thing good about this movie is that it makes me wanna go to flushing to see the world fair... wait it's not there any more :) i should just buy (or procure by other means) a stark industries time-machine for the trip... should be peanuts to construct for an engineer like tony. read more

iron man 2 has a direly messy plot that renders most of the cast unable to do much but bicker at each other for most of the runtime. nevertheless, its accomplished spectacle and bombastic action scenes still put a smile on my face. there's enough wit and heart throughout that iron man 2 is able to handily overcome its shortcomings in stylish comic book fashion. read more

This is honestly one of my favourites. I love the fear and turmoil Tony goes through as he actually believes he's going to die. And I feel like every thing he's doing makes sense. He's careless, reckless and having a crisis in secret.  Not to mention this is our introduction to the BLACK WIDOW. What a great and subtle way of introducing her. Love it. I also really love the villains in this movie. Anton Vanko is such a really interesting character and I love how intelligent he is, despite the environment he was forced to grow up in. Although considered an inferior sequel, "Iron Man 2" is in fact pretty much on a par with its predecessor: snappy lines, wall to wall action, lavish special effects, and a balanced approach that manages to never overestimate the genre or underestimate its viewers. Followed by Iron Man 3. read more

Back in 2005 Marvel published 'Extremis', a reboot/retcon that updated Iron Man's backstory for the modern era. The story is almost entirely composed of Tony Stark introspectively brooding in a coma while the story's villain, a random redneck with almost no characterization, marches singlemindedly across the country to kill the president. This is an amazing film and I hope to see Iron Man 4. The fight between Whiplash and Iron Man was mind-blowing. I loved the villain. it was nice to see Tony Stark, Black Widow, War Machine and Nick Fury. read more
