I can understand why this film received low ratings.  It can be very cliched and cheesy (especially with the dialogue) at times, but that doesn't take away how fun it was!!

There's no doubt that it's the action and special effects that really drive this film. There are some pretty intense action sequences, not just the RAMPAGE in the last 20 minutes, which was probably the most fun I've had with a movie for in a while.

The chemistry between Dwayne and George is very good, although I feel it could've had a more emotional element to it. In regards to the humor, some of it... read more

i never thought the most charismatic part of a film starring the rock, would be a cg ape. however, that is the case here. it's pretty standard fare, but it's a fun ride. read more

really stupid. but the action is moderately entertaining, the crap writing is sometimes mildly amusing in its obviousness, and the pacing is quick enough to breeze past the obligatory sentimental shit. there's even a couple sweeping blockbuster camera moves that stand out. very rarely crosses into 'genuinely good' territory, though. a worthwhile watch if you like this sort of thing. p.s. jeffrey dean morgan's character was pretty lame. dwayne johnson & naomie harris are a fun team. read more

rampage delivers on what it promises, giant monsters fighting and a whole lot of destruction. there really isn't anything else to it, the plot is inane, but they don't waste too much time on it because they know you came to watch discount king kong v. godzilla. read more

worked well enough for me. don't go in expecting more than a dumb, loud monster movie in the age of call of duty (blegh), and you won't be too bored. in fact as a monster movie, i think it works better than a lot of recent attempts such as jurassic world, skull island, or even the transformers movies. if this had a bit more style to it, and didn't rely on those stupid monster movie army tropes, it would've been a clear win. jdm makes a solid sam elliott. read more

rampage is a blast. an empty headed, heart-on-sleeve, cgi disaster movie that should tide people over until legendary and wb unleashes another godzilla or king kong flick. i like how silly people looked, complaining about the inconsistencies with the game. like, really? really? there's a small checklist i went into this with: dwayne being charismatic - check giant monsters fighting - check did it make me chuckle - check have cool bits that made me say "cool" - check if you were expecting anything more than that, i feel sorry for you. rampage is a lot of fun, and it's going in my bd collection... read more

Dwayne Johnsons character spends more time worrying about the life of an overgrown albino gorilla than he does about all the potential human lives when it goes on a rampage. thankfully, Negan from The Walking Dead is the only saving grace about this movie read more

This movie was really exactly what I was expecting it to be. It isn't new in the originality department but it was still an enjoyable flick. Dwayne Johnson just does what he normally does but on this occasion not trying to belt people but gigantic animals. The CGI was mostly good but a few points in the movie it was pretty lame, I expect a lot of unrealism but with all the computer animation these days it could of looked better. All in all a worthwhile movie to watch read more

VFX wise it's better than the monsterverse movies because the whole movie takes place in broad daylight and you can actually see the monsters fighting. read more
