i used to think this was nothing special, just kind of a cute, featherweight comedy. and it still is, but i don't see that as a negative anymore. charming and entertaining throughout, and somehow never feels like 120 minutes. back then there was a big thing about marisa tomei winning an oscar, and i don't wanna get all costanza up in here, but it's marisa tomei so who in their right mind would have a problem with her winning an award? read more

while there's plenty of cliches and typical 90's comedy gags, there's a lot of heart bubbling just under the surface of this little gem. not to mention the absolutely fantastic climax of the movie. it's like watching a race, and the horse, car, or runner you're cheering for is so far ahead of all the competition, that you're ecstatic all the way to the finish line. that's the climax of this movie. a real slam dunk. i love courtroom movies. this is definitely up there for me, as well as it is for the american bar association. this is #3 on their top 25 legal movies of all time. can't argue read more
