Two Swedish soldiers charged with defining borders between Sweden and Russia after a 25-years war is over find their war-time behaviour won't let itself be forgotten. Genuinely eerie, slow-burning meditation on guilt and responsibility, a Tarkovskian horror film for viewers who don't require a clear map to go through a story. read more

Sauna is a Finnish horror movie set at the tail-end of a war between Russia and Sweden in the 16th century. It is about two brothers who are tasked with determining the border of an uncharted land, however their task is made altogether more difficult as they are haunted by the vengeful spirit of a young girl whom they left to die locked in a cellar with no food or water. Ville Virtanen is a standout as Eerik, whilst credit must also be given for the set and costume design, Sauna always looks thoroughly convincing.
